CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE AT ST MICHAEL'S CHURCH

In keeping with current legislation St Michael’s is committed to the nurturing, protection and safekeeping of all, especially children and young people. Our Church is also committed to supporting, resourcing and training those who work with children and to providing supervision.

The PCC have appointed a Child Protection Officer and her details can be found below.

Our children and young people are vital to us. They are not just the church of the future; they are part of the church now.

Junior Church.

We have a thriving Junior Church, which takes place in the Old Vic and Scout Hut at the back of the church on all Sundays except Parade Sundays, School Sunday and during the school holidays. (Once each term we have our School Sunday service, when our parents and children from St Michael’s School join us for a special service). Junior Church commences at 09.20 A.M. and the children then join their parents and the rest of the church family in church from approximately 10.10 A.M. for communion together.

Like school the classes are split up according to Year groups. Children are welcome from the age of three. Junior Church sessions usually follow a theme and your child is given a follow-up activity to do at home. Each child must have an adult responsible for them in church during the session.

Please stay for the full duration of the service and be part of the church family.  A collection is taken every week in Junior Church. Please feel free to give whatever you are able, perhaps in line with attending other weekly activities, clubs, etc, e.g. swimming, dancing and football.
