Christmas Fair at All Saints. 17th November, 12 noon. Please drop in and show your appreciation for all the hard work put into this event.

Film Night, at All Saints, on Thursday 22 November at 7pm, we will be showing JOURNEY'S END, the first World War Film to end them all. Free Entry, with a retiring collection,refreshments available, however no children under 11 years please.

Art Classes,

There are two sessions every Tuesday and Thursday, 10am to noon and 1pm to 3pm. Interested? Contact Helen either via this website or you can find her number in the Old Vic on her poster. New members will be most welcome.


The group then continues to meet on Monday afternoons and continues to sew and knit for a variety of projects. Newcomers are very welcome, so come along to the Old Vic between 1.30pm and 2pm. Contact Joan Eagleton for further details/information.

One of the areas that the Needlework Group provides support to is to supply 'emergency' packs of toiletries to Hospitals. These packs contain essential items required by those who are admitted to hospital in an emergency/for an unexpected short stay. Items provided include Toothpaste/toothbrushes, combs, facecloths, shaving gel/cream, razors, shower gel etc.If you are able to donate any of these items your generosity would be much appreciated, please leave any stuff at the Wardens Pew in Church.


Café Church  on  Wednesday 21st November, when the theme will be WW1 Remembered.

As always all are welcome.Don't be shy, come along and bring a friend or neighbour, it is very relaxed and informal.

There are some other activities/dates that you may be interested in, the following is a brief summary more details will be available via the Church Magazine closer to the date:

11th November - Remembrance Sunday Service. Please Note; this Service will be held at 10.30am - (the 09.30 service will not take place).- The change is of course in keeping will the 11am Act of Remembrance which is observed across the Nation and the Commonwealth.

25th November, Light for Life Service at 5.30pm , All Saints Rhodes. This is an Outdoor Memorial Service with St Michael's Band and Little Heaton School Choir supporting this service. Saturday 1st December, St Michael's Brass Band will be playing at the Alkrington Community Centre. 8pm > 10pm, tickets are £5 available in Church. Refreshments will be available and there will also be a raffle.

Monday 3rd December; Uniformed Groups Carol concert.

Saturday 8th December at 6.30pm "Christmas Tree Festival and the event commences at 7.30pm Service, more details to follow. THIS CAN ALSO BE ACCESSED THRO' THE LINK ON THE PEW SHEET TAB.

Sunday 9th December, Our annual Toy Service celebrated in both Churches across all Services. Please if you are able donate a gift to a child who perhaps otherwise would not receive a gift at Christmas. Please wrap your gift and indicate the age group it is suitable for and also appropriate to a Girl or a Boy. In particular this would be helpful for children in the age group 0 - 10 years. Gift Vouchers are a brilliant idea for children age 9 - 16, especially to be used in conjunction with clothing stores. We are in particular supporting those children identified by the Burnside Centre, Middleton, and also the Middleton Foodbank.

Sunday 9th December, Carols by Request at All Saints Church Rhodes at 5.30pm.

Wednesday 12th December; Cafe Church at 2pm in the Old Vic.

Saturday 15th December at St Michael's a Concert performed by the Houghton Weavers and Middleton Brass Band, tickets are available in Church.

Saturday 22nd December: Blue Christmas Meal at 2pm in the Old Vic. Booking is essential for this event, it will be free to those coming along, remember this is designed for those without anyone at Christmas and is an important element of our vision to reach out to those in our community who are less fortunate than ourselves.

Sunday 23rd December at 6.30pm, our legendary Candlelight Carol Service with guest preacher Bishop of Middleton, Mark Davies.

There will also be our traditional services at St Michael's at 09.30am Christmas Day and at 10am on 26th, 27th and 28th December, these later services conclude with Festive Fun in the Old Vic. when our Hot Xmas Tarts will be served.
