St Michaels Band Concert featuring 'The Boltones',

will take place on Saturday 11th November at 7.30pm in the Alkrington Community Centre. Tickets are £5 from Pat Barr, 0161 643 4055.

There are some activities which take place weekly in the 'Old Vic';

Art Classes,

two sessions every Tuesday and Thursday, 10am to noon and 1pm to 3pm. Interested? Contact Helen either via this website or you can find her number in the Old Vic on her poster. New members will be most welcome.

There are also 'Tai Chi' classes for the "Over 50's".

These are designed to promote Health, Fitness, Balance and Co-ordination.Every Friday afternoon - 1.30pm to 2.30pm.Why not pop along and check this out with George the instructor. Taiko Drumming Japanese, also held at the Old Vic on Fridays, 11.30am to 12.30pm. Look on YOUTUBE at Tantara Rochdale to see a demo of Taiko Drumming.


The group then continues to meet on Monday afternoons and continues to sew and knit for a variety of projects. Newcomers are very welcome, so come along to the Old Vic between 1.30pm and 2pm. Contact Joan Eagleton for further details/information.

One of the areas that the Needlework Group provides support to is to supply 'emergency' packs of toiletries to Hospitals. These packs contain essential items required by those who are admitted to hospital in an emergency/for an unexpected short stay. Items provided include Toothpaste/toothbrushes, combs, facecloths, shaving gel/cream, razors, shower gel etc.

If you are able to donate any of these items your generosity would be much appreciated, please leave any stuff at the Wardens Pew in Church.


Bonfire, Fireworks and Family Fun Night, Friday 3rd November at 7pm. Refreshments available, admission will be by donation of a large firework, no sparklers please and no donations of wood.


A positive alternative to Halloween. Tuesday 31st October in the Scout Hut,5.30pm > 7pm. Fun, food, games and music, a night of light, joy and hope. Tickets available from any Uniformed Group Leader, just 50p and includes refreshments. No scary costumes, witches or monsters, please. Under 6's to be accompanied by an adult.
